Founded in 1870, the Rhode Island SPCA is the oldest nonprofit animal welfare organization in the state of Rhode Island and the third oldest in the country. We provide adoption and rehoming services, veterinary care, humane education, training support, and pet parent assistance programs. The Rhode Island SPCA is also the only organization in the state that can legally investigate and prosecute cases of animal cruelty and neglect. The society takes an active role in legislative matters concerning the welfare of all animals in our state.
Now centrally located in Warwick, Rhode Island, our Adoption & Education Center runs under the same roof as our Animal Health Center which operates as a general veterinary practice.

Through the Marvin Fund, we offer additional financial assistance to limited-income pet parents who otherwise could not afford to care for them. Friends of Animals in Need now acts as the administrator of this fund. If you need financial assistance for veterinary care for your pet and have already received an estimate for services, please contact them at 401-489-3645. We strive to keep pets and the people that cherish them together.
This program is designed for pet owners experiencing financial hardship with the goal of keeping pets in their current homes. Through donations, we are able to provide free dog and cat food to households that may be in-need of temporary assistance.
If you are in-need of assistance, please stop by during our open hours.
· Wednesday-Sunday 12-4
