Friends of Animals in Need (FAN) is a group of volunteer pet lovers striving to keep people and their beloved pets together by providing funds for veterinary care to pet owners facing financial challenges. The goal is to help pet owners avoid the surrender, abandonment, or the euthanizing of their pet.
The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.
Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL) has been dedicated to serving companion animals since 1913, offering essential programs that encompass pet intake and adoption, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, preventative veterinary care clinics, and a pet food pantry.
The Potter League for Animals is dedicated to helping pets and their owners in need, offering financial assistance and various veterinary services.
The Rhode Island SPCA runs a shelter, veterinary clinic, law enforcement division, and a dynamic humane education department. The Marvin Fund aids low-income pet owners with veterinary care costs.
The RIVMA Companion Animal Foundation (CAF) provides qualified, low-income owners with financial assistance to reduce the cost of their pets’ wellness visits and treatment for illness and injury.
In March 1962, five Rhode Island veterinarians founded the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association (RIVMA) as a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the science and art of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health and agriculture.
Volunteer Services for Animals (VSA) works to reduce companion animal overpopulation, the treatment of work animals and animals raised for food, and to increase the protection of wildlife, sealife, and the environment through education, legislative advocacy, and direct intervention on state and national levels.
