In March 1962, five Rhode Island veterinarians founded the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association (RIVMA) as a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the science and art of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health and agriculture.
Today, the RIVMA has grown to a vibrant and active community of veterinarians whose dedication to animal welfare reaches beyond their clinic walls.
The RIVMA holds rabies clinics in a number of cities and towns around RI in the springtime. Attendees do not need to be a resident of the town they attend. Vaccines cost between $10-$15 and can be used for dogs, cats and ferrets.
